JotBud ("we", "us", "our") is an AI memory companion that helps people with ADHD capture and recall information. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
What we collect
- Messages you send to JotBud — text, voice notes, and images you share via Telegram. We store these to power your memory, briefings, and reminders.
- Account info — your Telegram user ID, first name, timezone, and preferences (briefing time, nudge intensity).
- Usage analytics — anonymous page views on our website via Google Analytics.
How we use your data
- To respond to your messages and provide memory, briefing, and reminder features.
- To generate AI responses using OpenAI and DeepSeek APIs. Your messages are sent to these providers to generate responses. We do not use your data to train AI models.
- To send you scheduled briefings and nudges at times you choose.
- To improve JotBud (aggregated, non-personal usage patterns only).
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest. Connections are encrypted in transit via TLS. We use semantic embeddings (vector representations) of your messages to power search — these are not human-readable.

Data retention
We keep your data for as long as you use JotBud. Conversation messages older than 7 days are automatically cleaned up, but your captured memories persist until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can:
- Ask us to export all your data.
- Ask us to delete your account and all associated data.
- Stop using JotBud at any time — just stop messaging the bot.

Children
JotBud is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll note the date at the top when we do.
